Boodles Mulberry Gin

70cl | 30% ABV | England

The Boodles Gin brand reaches its hands as far back into the history book as 1845 and was supposedly a favourite of Churchill. Mulberry Gin is a more recent addition to the name, and a magnificent alternative take on a Sloe.

Boodles Mulberry Gin is utterly delicious sipped neat, but fans of a longer drink might enjoy stirring it into a lemon tonic and garnishing with a sprig of rosemary.

"Consider it an alternative to Sloe as the lower ABV (30%) and added sweetness takes it away from being a flavoured gin and more into the decadent gin liqueur territory. One to sip neat in the evenings…"

About this product

Boodles Gin is made by Greenall's Distillery, who employ a London Dry Method, adding all ingredients to a vapour chamber in the still prior to distillation. The finished gin is plied with mulberries and left to rest for months.

As with many historic brands, Boodles Gin has changed hands a few times, beginning with Cock Russel & Company. In 2001, it was sold to Pernod Ricard, before Proximo Spirits took over in 2012. The hands change, the thankfully gin remains the same!

G&J Distillery, based in Warrington, dates way back to 1761. It’s a true powerhouse, currently producing 7mn cases of spirits annually. It’s responsible for creating so many brands that there’s a very good chance you’ve already tried their wares.
