On the nose, it is bold and aromatic, it has round, toasty, ricey notes accompanied by caramelised tropical fruit. To taste, it's soft with caramel and a gingery spice, and its low abv keeps it light and sippable neat.
This is a shochu in the konwa (blended) style. They separately distil base spirits made from malted wheat, barley, rice and molasses, then blend together and infuse them with rhubarb, ginger and galangal.
