Craigellachie 17yo Single Malt

Craigellachie 17yo Single Malt

70cl | 46% ABV | Scotland

Craigellachie 17 Year Old Single Malt showcases the distillery’s distinct robust and muscular character. This is a smooth and mellow expression, with aromas of vanilla, notes of exotic fruits, dried pineapples and a hint of smoky liquorice.

Craigellachie is made from malted barley and pure spring water. The malt is triple distilled through two spirit stills and uses worm tub condensers to impart strong flavour complexity onto the whisky, this isn’t common for distilleries to do.

About this product

Craigellachie 17 Year Old Single Malt is best served neat but a splash of water really opens up the tropical fruit notes.

In 1890, Alexander Edward formed a consortium with Peter Mackie (an experienced whisky figure) in order to purchase land from Edward’s father, so he could build the Craigellachie distillery.

The Craigellachie distillery is named after a town which is located in Speyside, overlooking the Spey and Fiddich rivers. The distillery is located on a cliff, which is apt as Craigellachie literally means "rocky hill".
