Del Maguey Ibérico Mezcal is made in the style of Pechuga Mezcal, using Espadin harvested in Oaxaca. Made with twice distilled mezcal from Santa Catrina Minas, a third distillation utilises nuts, berries and uncooked white rice.

Instead of chicken breast suspended in their clay still, as with Pechuga Mezcal, Del Maguey Ibérico Mezcal uses a leg of Ibérico ham - the legendary ham made of free-range, acorn-fed, black-footed Ibérico pigs from Spain.

About this product

Del Maguey Ibérico Mezcal has a spicy floral nose of carnation, jasmine with ripe pear, dark fig, notes of wet green hay and forest floor. One to savour neat or as an alternative to whisky in an Old Fashioned.

Founded in 1995 by Ron Cooper, Del Maguey were pioneers in bringing agave spirits to the USA. The Iberico Mezcal is the result of a collaboration with Chef José Andrés whose team suggested Ron to use the Iberico in lieu of the Pechuga.

A ‘single village Mezcal,’ Del Maguey Ibérico Mezcal is produced in Santa Catarina Minas, a small village in south-western Mexico famed for its mezcals.
