Fifty Pounds Gin

70cl | 43.5% ABV | England

Though it may take its name from the darkest time in the history of the spirit, Fifty Pounds Gin is a classy affair – a traditionally styled gin in a beautiful bottle.

Perfectly balanced, with fresh, piney juniper and a light hit of orris root petals, Fifty Pounds Gin is one that will appeal to any fan of a classic gin. It makes for a perfect G&T, especially when teamed up with an orange peel garnish.

"Classic and elegant, it's what many traditional gins aspire to be but don't quite reach the level of. The liquorice, orange combo used inside helps keep the mouthfeel nice and round giving it extra usability in drinks like a Martini."

About this product

Fifty Pounds Gin is made at Thames Distillers to a London Dry standard. Eleven botanicals – grains of paradise, liquorice and orange rind amongst them – are distilled in a pot still and cut down to 43.5% ABV.

Fifty Pounds Gin is distributed by Sanchez Romate, a family-owned Spanish company with a multi-generational history of brandy and wine production.

Thames Distillers, based in South London, is a contract distillery responsible for creating so many of today’s gins. Distiller Charles Maxwell is a dab hand, able to perfect a gin in a couple of tries. If he’s made it, it’s good.
