Fresh and dried apricots lead the aroma, while a more cooked apricot jam is clear. There's a slight note of almond-like stone in there and overall, it's a big fruity ripe apricot liqueur. Great for cocktails!
Fruits are macerated in alcohol for 48 hours to 3 months depending on the time needed to reach a perfect blend of fruit and alcohol. It is then filtered and sweetened.
Giffard began during the summer of 1885, when Émile Giffard (a dispensing chemist) took an interest in the digestive and refreshing properties of mint. Five generations later, the family business still bears the Giffard name.
The Giffard distillery is located near Angers, a beautiful, medieval town in the heart of the Loire Valley. Giffard sources many of its fruits and herbs for production from within the region.
