Hine Rare VSOP Cognac

70cl | 40% ABV | France

Rare is a classic expression of the House of Hine. It reinterprets the fruity flavours characteristic of the white wines produced from Charente vines, particularly from the Grande and Petite Champagne varieties.

With notes of roasted nectarines, heavy vanilla and oaky brioche, Hine Rare is delicious neat. If using in a cocktail, try a classic Sidecar cocktail as the stone fruit notes seems to work exceptionally well with triple sec.

About this product

First created in 1989 - Hine Rare is a blend of around twenty eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne grapes (they state that a minimum of 50% is from Grande Champagne).

Thomas Hine (originally a Dorset lad) moved to France to learn the secrets of Cognac. Decades later, following a marriage he gave his name to the house in 1817. Since, six generations have continued on & Bernard Hine oversees a team of thirty today.

The House of Hine draws its identity from the heart of two Premier Crus (in a region where Crus number just 6): the Grande Champagne & the Petite Champagne. In the village of Bonneuil, 115 hectares of vineyards unfurl their rows of Ugni Blanc vines.
