Ledaig 1997 Manzanilla Finish is a limited edition from the Tobermory distillery. This is a heavily peated spirit which has had its peaty character boosted from time spent in sherry casks, this has also added rich sweetness enhancing its salty notes.

Bright aromas of citrus and dried fruit are clear, while to taste they are complimented by caramel and vanilla and rich oak, with hints of peppery spice on the finish. There’s also a subtle, but noticeable smoke.

About this product

On 30th December 1997 this spirit was distilled and then filled into refill hogsheads, it’s left to mature and rest for 18 long years before being transferred into Manzanilla sherry casks from Spain in 2016, for an additional 3 years.

Ledaig Distillery was established in 1798 by John Sinclair, a local kelp merchant who applied for a lease of 57 acres of land on the area known as Ledaig in order to build housing and a distillery.

Tobermory is the Isle of Mull’s only whisky distillery and one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. There are plenty of landmarks on the island such as the Lochbuie Stone Circle, Mackinnon’s Cave, Loch Ba and the Sunken Galleon.
