Madre Mezcal is an artisanal Mezcal, made in the hills of San Dionisio, Oaxaca. As an ensemble, both Espadin and Cuishe agave are used to create Madre’s softly smoked flavour.
Madre carries soft hints of smoke alongside sweet grassy notes and freshly cut herbs. To taste, mint, sage and cooked agave lead before white florals and aromatic smoke appear on a peppery finish.
Madre makes use of both Espadin and Cuishe, sourced from the dusty Oaxacan desert and sticks to an Artisanal production method. Once harvested, cooked and fermented, it's distilled in a copper pot still.
Madre mezcal was founded by Stefan Wigand and Tony Farfalla, who developed a deep love for the agave-based liquor. They work closely with the Garcia Morales family who distil the spirit for them.
