Makar Glasgow Gin

Makar Glasgow Gin is a juniper-explosion, packed with rich, pine forest flavours, garden herbs and a whip crack finish of cracked black pepper. It is Gin heaven.

Makar Glasgow Gin is juniper led from nose to tail, packed with sappy, waxy notes that all-but stain the tongue a bright blue colour. We absolutely adore Makar’s suggested G&T serve, which is Indian tonic and fresh, sliced green chillies.

About this product

To make Makar Gin, the Glasgow Distillery load up their 450-litre Carl still with juniper, angelica, liquorice, coriander, lemon peel, cassia, black peppercorns and rosemary and distil to London Dry standards.

Glasgow Distillery was co-founded by Mike Hayward, Liam Hughes and Ian McDougal, who set to herald in a new age of distilling in their home city. In 2014 they became the first Single Malt Whisky Distillery in the city for over 100 years.

Embracing the characteristics of the city itself, Makar was the first craft gin to be distilled in the city of Glasgow - this is Glasgow's gin.

More from Makar

Makar Mulberry Cask Aged Gin

Makar Mulberry Aged Gin is a beautiful aged gin, with subtle, charred wood notes and a warming cassia spice. The juniper is mellow and calming – a truly wonderful sipping experience.

"The better casked aged gin in their duo - here Makar has been matured in virgin mulberry wood casks to create a charming and soft gin that's sweet on the palate. The oak adds both tannin and a fruity touch."

Makar Old Tom Gin

Glasgow made Makar Old Tom Gin is a well-rounded cocktail gin with a woozy liquorice sweetness and a drying pinch of black pepper.

"Almonds and fresh oranges are included along with a dash of honey and the usual signature Makar botanicals to give an exceptionally well-balanced, complex Old Tom Gin."
