100% Espadin agave hearts are cooked in pits, rolled with a tahona and left to ferment before being twice distilled in copper pots.
Meteoro Mezcal is bold and fruity, with a touch of vanilla and makes a delicious alternative to gin in the classic Negroni. Alternatively as the smoke is less pronounced than some, it also makes a delicious Margarita.
Launched back in 2012, the brand made a name for itself by embracing social media. The production of Meteroro Mezcal is overseen by maestro mezcalero Petronilo Rosario Altamirano.
Meteoro Mezcal is made at the distillery in Las Margaritas, Oaxaca, the state which is home to the country’s most vibrant crafts and art scene.
Mezcal Amores Cupreata is made on slopes that are between 5,000 and 6,000 feet above sea level which makes it harder to grow and cultivate, imparting a unique flavour into this Mezcal.

QuiQuiRiQui Matatlán is a classic “house style” mezcal. It has a smooth taste with distinct roasted agave flavours and a peppery finish that is characteristic with the Espadin agave.
"As an all-rounder, QuiQuiRiQui probably offers the best value for money in the UK. This mezcal has everything going for it: fruitiness, sweet cooked agave, smoke, vegetal notes and citrus. At 45% ABV the alcohol is able to carry lots of flavour."
Part of the brand's Vino De Mezcal series and laden with sweet fruit and florals, Del Maguey Wild Tepextate is made with the wild agave Tepextate, which offers a lighter body than many mezcals.
"There’s a reason for the higher price tag on this mezcal: tepeztate is a wild agave variety that can grow for up to 30+ years before it is ready to harvest. Trust me, it’ll be worth every penny."
