About this product

To make this release pears are harvested from The Rhone, mashed and fermented. This is then distilled in copper stills, before being allowed to rest ahead of bottling. Around 28 kgs of pears are required to make each bottle!

Son of a wine merchant and fruit lover, Gilbert Miclo created his eponymous distillery in 1962. It now has sixteen employees and produces nearly 200,000 bottles each year.

The distillery is based in Lapoutroie in Alsace, at the foot of the Vosges Mountain. The pears used for this eau de vie come from the Rhône valley.
