50cl | 29% ABV | Scotland

To make Pickering’s Sloe Gin, the team have tailored the botanicals in their award-winning Pickering’s Gin to produce the perfect base for infusing ripe, plump sloe berries.

Cherry Bakewell and zesty lemons with a hint of creamy vanilla sponge, this is a Sloe gin to savour neat or over ice. If you want to create a long serve, added warmed apple juice.

"Really classic Sloe Gin - perfect for countryside walks and wintertime sipping. The base gin lends itself so well to the fruit, layering this Sloe with warming spice and resinous juniper."

About this product

The classic 9 botanical gin has been accentuated with an additional dose of cardamom, clove, anise and fennel. They’ve also added sweet cinnamon, balancing the rich red fruit flavour of the sloes into a wonderfully warming sip.

Pickering's was founded by Matt Gammell and Marcus Pickering, who have been friends and business partners for years, with backgrounds in engineering, furniture restoration and property renovation.

Founded in 2013, Summerhall Distillery was the first exclusive gin distillery to be established in Edinburgh for over 150 years. It stands in the middle of what was once the old Royal (Dick) Veterinary School and animal hospital.

Pickering's 1947 Edition Gin

The 1947 Pickering's edition is made precisely to the original recipe, as it was written down in Bombay, 1947. The added cinnamon used in this version gives the profile a decidedly fragrant warmth.

"Dried fennel is absolutely clear on the nose, this time backed by anise and a sweet twang of citrus. There's a deft subtlety and layered taste, allowing it to have a clear personality. Distinct and memorable gin."

Pickering's Original Gin

Pickering’s Gin is based on an original Bombay recipe, dating from 17 July 1947. Kept as a family secret for over 66 years, it only resurfaced when they began distilling at Summerhall in Edinburgh.

"The fresh, crisp pine notes from the juniper are upfront on the nose. To taste, small citrus notes kick it off, but it’s the core gin trio (juniper, coriander seed and angelica) of flavours that take over. Fennel and anise loom in the background."
