Silent Pool Rare Citrus Gin uses some of the World’s rarest and most intriguing citrus. Bright and zesty, yet with a recognisably juniper core - this is, arguably, the distillery's best offering.
Juniper centres the gin, along with peppery spice on the finish while the zesty citrus flurry appears throughout. Great in a G&T with a twist of Grapefruit but best in a Negroni.
The four citrus varieties used are Seville bitter orange (adding caramelised orange), Buddha’s hand (bringing sherbet and effervescent lemon), Natsudaidai (similar zestiness to mandarin), and hirado buntan (a type of pomelo).
Silent Pool Distillery, based on the Albury Estate in the Surrey Hills, was founded by former ITV Director Ian McCulloch and drinks expert James Shelbourne. It has several gins to its name, including its beautifully bottled namesake.
The distillery, made up of a group of semi-dilapidated farm buildings is based in an extraordinary location on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, on the banks of the legendary Silent Pool.
