St. George Terroir Gin

70cl | 45% ABV | U.S.A.

Forest-driven and earthy, Terroir is a profoundly aromatic gin with a real sense of place. It conveys the monumental groves of trees, misty glens and sun-baked chaparral of California's parklands in magical liquid form.

Terroir Gin is a forest in your glass—with ultra woodsy notes of Douglas fir, California bay laurel, sage, and a hint of citrus. Opt for a small peel of lemon in a G&T but it shines brightest when in a Collins garnished with fresh fennel!

Key Flavours

"Possibly one of the greatest gins of all times. A truly modern, unusual take on the category and showcases, unequiviqually, that making great gin isn't just about balancing evocative flavours, it's an artform in its own right."

About this product

They distil the fir and sage individually on a 250-liter still. The fresh bay laurel leaves and juniper berries are vapour-infused in a botanical basket. The other botanicals go right in the pot of their 1,500-liter still.

St. George Spirits was founded in 1982 by Jörg Rupf, who travelled to the USA as Germany's youngest judge on assignment from the Ministry of Culture. It's now headed up by Lance Winters, one the rare few who treat distilling as an art form.

Based in a former Naval Air Station in Alameda, California St George is a 65,000-square-foot hangar with a spectacular tasting room, laboratory, and a lineup of some the most beautiful copper stills in the industry.

St. George Dry Rye Gin

Using a base of 100% pot-distilled rye, this a gin for whiskey lovers. With a malty structure, peppery spice, and an impossibly rich mouthfeel, Dry Rye Gin is a half way house between gin and genever.

"Malty notes from the rye base are clear but it's worth noting that there's also 50% more juniper than in either of their other two gins, which comes in handy in cocktails like a Martinez or Negroni."
