This extraordinary whisky is aged in refill American oak barrels, it’s then finished in 40 year old amontillado sherry casks from Delgado Zuleta - one of Jerez’s oldest sherry producers.
In 1825, brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill arrived on the island of Skye from the smaller island of Eigg. They leased Talisker House, which five years later was converted and became Talisker distillery.
Talisker distillery is located on the shores of Loch Harport. Sitting amongst the Inner Hebridean Scottish Isles, the island of Skye is rugged, windswept, a place of extremes. Talisker captures the spirit of its island home perfectly.
Talisker 10 Year Old Single Malt is matured in traditional oak casks. The casks and atmosphere have impacted the liquid beautifully for at least ten years.
