Expect a classic sherried nose with sweet and caramelised fruits. To taste maple syrup leads creamy vanilla, dried figs, poached pears and a sprinkle of cocoa. A gentle twist of orange appears in the background.
Bunnahabhain single Malt is fully matured in rare Canasta sherry casks, whose resting place was once home to skilfully blended sherries made from Palomino and Pedro Ximenez grapes.
In 1879 William Robertson of Robertson and Baxter Blending House, joined with the Greenlees Brothers to create the Islay Distillery Company. With the distillery built on a site close to the Margadale River, in 1883 Bunnahabhain was born.
This release was made for the Islay Whisky Festival One of the biggest events in the Whisky World. Whisky super fans from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Islay to attend events at all the islands’ distilleries.

Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is double matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this whisky is beautifully rich and full-bodied, achieving the ideal balance of nutty and sherry characteristics.
