The captivating light pink hue delivers sweet and tart citrus flavours (in particular a grapefruit zing) backed with a distinct herbal agave taste.
Piñas are cooked in Steam autoclaves, before being fermented and distilled on pot stills. Once made, natural flavours, pink grapefruit peel and carmine (cochineal) are infused into the spirit.
Butterfly Cannon was created by drinks mavens Biggar & Leith (Hotel Starlino, Stambecco, Shanky's Whip), and the tequila is made under contract by well known producers Destiladores Del Valle de Tequila (Nom 1438).
Destiladores Del Valle are based in Jalisco, while the brand looks to further links to Mexico by donating funds to Monarch Butterfly conservation. The butterfly migration between the countries is one of the most impressive in the natural world.
