About this product

Contratto Aperitif is made using a combination of 28 botanicals infused into Italian Brandy. Key to it's flavour are the use of Safflower, orange, cinchona, wormwood, juniper, licorice root, rhubarb and ginger.

Contratto was founded in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto, with the first Vermouth released in 1890s. In 2011, it was acquired by the Rivetti family who have helped restore much of the brand's former glory.

The winery has a long, distinguished history - at one point Contratto was the personal supplier to the Vatican as well as to the Italian Royal Family. Their historic cathedral cellars are now even designated a UNESCO Heritage Site.
