In 1825, famers John and George Rate created Milton distillery, it was later licensed and renamed The Glenkinchie distillery in 1837. It was sold in 1853 and converted into a sawmill, before it was converted again, back into a distillery in 1880.
Sitting in the valley of Kinchie Burn, the Glenkinchie distillery is close to the village of Pencaitland, East Lothian and just a stone’s throw from the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh.
