With light aromas of berries, orange blossom and grapefruit, along with a fresh, lively and fruity taste - it's a modern aperitif that's ideal for those seeking to top with tonic and enjoy a full flavour, low ABV drink.
Lillet belongs in a family of aperitif known as tonic wines. It’s often considered a vermouth, however it is not as there's no wormwood (from which the word vermouth derives) in it.
In 1872, the brothers Paul and Raymond Lillet, distillers and merchants of wines and spirits, founded their company. Today, production is overseen by cellar master Jean Bernard Blancheton, who created the rosé.
Lillet is made in Podensac, a small village south of Bordeaux, with the base wines (85% of each expression), also coming from the region.
First introduced in 1962, Lillet Rouge is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot grapes that are fortified with lemon and orange brandies along with a quinine and botanical infusion.
Made from a base of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes and matured in oak casks, Lillet Blanc is an iconic product with all the freshness of a bright aperitif. Just delicious!
