Rooster Rojo Reposado Tequila is blended with water filtered through Mexican silver to offer a notably smooth flavour profile.
The distillery uses agave cooked in autoclaves for 10 hours. A special yeast is then added to the agave juices before fermentation, which lasts up to 72 hours before distillation. It is then aged for a minimum of two months in French oak barrels.
With heavy notes of sweet vanilla oak, followed by ripe fruit, cooked agave and a warming medium length finish - Rooster Rojo Reposado Tequila is one to be savoured neat.
Rooster Rojo Tequila was created by master distiller Arturo Fuentes Cortes, who named the tequila after the rooster – a well-known symbol of Mexico. It is part of Amber Beverage Group.
Rooster Rojo Tequila is produced at “Fabrica de Tequilas Finos” distillery, located in the city of Tequila, Jalisco state of Mexico. The distillery began operating in 2000 in a beautiful old colonial building dating back to 1923.
A classic traditional 100% Agave tequila, initially sweet but swiftly followed by a subtle yet distinct peppery spice.
Rooster Rojo's Añejo is an expression where the oak plays a big part of the profile - tobacco and chocolate on the nose, caramel, roasted agave to taste and vanilla on the finish.
