Fresh and fruity whisky, full of ripe cherry with the sherry cask adding a lovely depth. One to enjoy neat, but a splash of water opens it up even further.
The jammy rich, fruity layers of this single malt are contributed from whisky which has spent time maturing in several casks; Japanese Mizunara oak, Bordeaux wine and sherry casks originating from Spain.
In 1923, Suntory's founder Shinjiro Torii founded the Yamazaki Distillery - Japan’s first and oldest malt whisky distillery. Always interested in Western pursuits, he mastered the techniques of mixing and blending through his teenage apprenticeships.
