1800 Añejo Tequila is a superb ultra-premium 100% blue agave tequila from Jose Cuervo. With a deep, luxurious mouthfeel, it's ideal for sipping or serving on the rocks. Won a Silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2024.
1800 Añejo Tequila uses 100% Weber blue agave, picked at their peak (anywhere from 8-12 years old), which is then aged in French Oak barrels for a minimum of 14 months (but up to 3 years).
This tequila has a spicy edge, but overall is well-rounded with flavours of toasted oak, vanilla and butterscotch. For those making cocktails, try it as an alternative to whisky in the classic Old Fashioned.
1800 Tequila is owned by the Beckmann Family (who also own Jose Cuervo Tequila). Originally, it was actually known as Cuervo 1800, but while the familial ties remain, it has since become a stand alone brand.
Named after the year tequila was (allegedly) first aged in casks, the 1800 Tequila range is made from blue agave grown on family owned ranches grown high above the sea in mineral-rich soil in the highlands, and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico.
1800 Reposado Tequila has notes of buttery caramel, mild spices and a touch of smokiness, which is imparted by the time the spirit spends resting in oak.
The best known in their range - 1800 Silver Tequila is made from 100% Weber blue agave which is harvested at its peak and aged for 8-12 years resulting in a particularly smooth character.
