Unpeated malt is used for the new make spirit, which is then matured in a combination of first fill bourbon and first fill sherry casks for at least three years. Bottled at 46.7% alcohol to fully capture the whisky's complexity.
Offers notes of fresh apple, florals, grass and hints of dark chocolate. Serve neat, on the rocks or with a drop of spring water.
In 2015 the distillery was purchased by entrepreneur David Prior, and with Master Distiller, Ian MacMillan, at the helm and significant investment in the distillery facilities. Bladnoch may well be the oldest 'new' Whiskey distillery in Scotland.
