Cinzano Rosso is the original of Cinzano’s vermouth portfolio and almost defines the idea of a typical Sweet Vermouth from Torino. Its classicism makes it great choice for those looking for a vermouth to use across any range of cocktails.
An aromatic mix of rich red wine, vanilla and black cherry, with a hint of burnt caramel. To taste, it's smooth with an initial sweetness, evolving on to earthy spices, complex tannins, the bitterness from the wormwood and slight orange citrus.
Starting with Italian red wine, alcohol and sugar, Cinzano then infuse a combination of around 35 botanicals including yarrow, nutmeg, coriander, juniper, orange peels, cloves and thyme. Its dark red colour is partly due to the addition of caramel.
Cinzano began in 1757, when accredited confectioners and brothers Carlo Stefano and Giovanni Giacomo Cinzano began their business. They became part of Gruppo Campari in 1999 and the brand is widely acknowledged as an icon of the industry.
