Serve it up with apple slices and Indian tonic water in a G&T to augment the botanical note that’s already there, but this is an all-rounder that will deliver on demand across any gin cocktail. Negroni, Martini, served neat, this just always works.
Elephant Gin is distilled using 14 botanicals, including rare African ingredients that are very unusual in gin-making. They are placed in a copper pot still along with neutral spirit and locally sourced spring water to create 600 bottles a batch.
Founded by entrepreneurs Tessa and Robin Gerlach, there’s never been a team so open and transparent about their sustainability conservations efforts (centred around the African Elephant) – which is the very reason they got into making gin.
With the efforts so focused on the objective and the inspiration – African Elephants – the German distillery and its surrounding location play purely a production role. Sustainability and handcrafting each element is also paramount there however.
