Forest Gin is extraordinary – it smells like a forest in the rain and tastes as though you’ve chewed up the forest floor. Nature emanates from every sip – it positively vibrates with the outdoors. Drink it in a G&T with a basil and lemon garnish.
Forest Gin creators Karl and Lindsay Bond use a selection of local and imported botanicals to make their gin. The clue is in the title when it comes to the source of the local botanicals, which include bilberries, raspberries, moss and ferns.
The Bonds had amassed quite the Gin collection before they decided to go on their distilling spree, but it wasn’t until they tried distilling freshy plucked fruits and berries that they realised they might actually be able to make a decent tipple.
The Forest Distillery is housed in a unique 17th Century bard in Macclesfield Forest. The tiny distillery is really quite astounding and their ability to convey their landscape into their gin has won it major plaudits at awards.
Mermaid Gin is crafted on the Isle of Wight using ten botanicals. Expect fresh lemon zest upfront, a hint of sea air from locally foraged rock samphire and peppery grains of paradise - all wrapped up...
