Hayman's Old Tom Gin

70cl | 41.4% ABV | England

in stock

Expect a juniper-rich feat, with candied peels up front and sugary cinnamon on the finish. Old Tom is a sweetened style that came into prominence in the 1800’s but that fell out of fashion until this very offering rejuvenated the genre back to life.

Whilst great in a G&T with a slither of lemon, this is made for the world’s most decadent Martinez. If you are thinking of a perfect way to end a dinner party - use this for a show stopping cocktail if ever there's been one.

Key Flavours

"It was originally brought back for bartenders who wanted the an Old Tom for those turn of the century cocktails. Caramelised citrus, piny juniper, with enduring warming spice on a sweetened finish"

About this product

Every offering in the Hayman’s Gin range is built upon the same 10 ingredients, though tweaked according to style (here the liquorice root is upped). All the botanicals are distilled together having been macerated overnight ahead of distillation.

Though it changed hands for a while over the years, Hayman’s is back in the arms of the family that began distilling it over 150-years-ago. Run by James and Miranda, the team bring the category’s heritage into everything they do.

Hayman’s Distillery moved back to London in 2018, setting up shop south of the river in Balham. With a glorious row of gleaming copper stills humming away, a botanical lab and visitor experience it’s well worth a visit!

"Unbelievable innovation in the 'low alcohol' area! It sounds mad, but even when using the suggested 5ml with a normal amount of tonic (150ml) - flavour wise it's hard to tell the difference between this and a G&T made with the original London Dry."

Hayman's Gently Rested Gin

Made to represent the booze quaffed in the Gin Palaces of the 1800s, Hayman’s Gently Rested Gin is a lightly-wooded take on Aged Gin, with a round, peppery spice and a thick, oily juniper.

"Due to the gentle resting, the citrus lift is subdued and it's far more peppery on the finish than the other Hayman's expressions, making it ideally suited for drinks like the Negroni."
