The nose is powerful with a noticeable herbal Artemisia backed by soft tones of anise, fennel and spicy coriander. Once diluted it louches turning the absinthe into a milky green/yellow hue, opening up the aroma and taste even further.
The nine botanicals of La Fée Blanche are individually distilled using a sugar beet spirit. These distillates are then carefully blended followed by a secondary maceration thereafter. It is bottled at the classic strength of 68% ABV.
La Fée Absinthe was created by George Rowley a British entrepreneur who having got a taste for Absinthe while living in Prague, decided to launch La Fée. He is widely credited as being instrumental in the absinthe revival.
La Fée is distilled at the Cherry Rocher distillery, and is said to be the first traditional absinthe to be distilled in France once the 1915 ban was lifted. It is the only absinthe to be endorsed by the Musée de l'Absinthe in Auvers-sur-Oise.
La Fée Absinthe Bohemian is a modern Bohemian-style absinthe that works especially well in cocktails due to its low anise content and ecchoes the style so popular during the Velvet Revolution of 1989.
"A rinse of Absinthe adds life to so many great cocktails, it’s the backbone of the Corpse reviver, Tuxedo or Sazerac, add a couple of dashes to an Americano or Negroni to give a little aniseed boost. it’s a great addition to any home-bar."
