Lead by citrus (particularly lime) on the nose, with secondary umami and slightly salty notes stemming from the seaweeds pushing through to taste. Contrast with mint as a garnish for a G&T.
Distilled under contract in Cornwall. Made to a London Dry process using juniper, orris, lime peel, lemon verbena, lime leaf, angelica and three types of Cornish seaweeds (Kelp, Dulse, and Sea Spaghetti).
Mainbrace was founded by Richard and Alex Haigh, who felt inspired by the way boat crews celebrate winning with a tot of rum and wanted to create something that reflected the spirit of camaraderie. They then also commissioned a gin.
The gin is made with Cornish water and some local botanicals, namely lemon verbena harvested from St. Michaels Mount, and three different types of seaweed sourced from the Cornish Seaweed Company in Gweek.
