Mainbrace is a golden 'spliced' rum and makes for a tasty base to a Daiquiri. It's made from a blend of unaged agricole from La Favourite Distillerie and 2-5 year old rums from 3 different stills in Guyana.
Expect honey-glazed apple and gingerbread notes on the nose, while brown sugar, earthy tones and cedar wood push through to taste. Great to sip neat or in cocktails.
There are no sweeteners or colourings added to the blend. 3 historic stills are used to make up the Guyanese portion. They consist of a double wooden pot in Port Mourant, a Coffey still and a four column French Savalle Still.
Mainbrace Rum was founded by Richard and Alex Haigh, who felt inspired by the way boat crews celebrate winning with a tot of rum and wanted to create something that reflected the spirit of camaraderie.
Mainbrace are based in Falmouth, Cornwall. The name comes from an old seafarer’s saying and their affinity for the sea and coast is reflected in regular sponsorship of sailing events in the region.
