Resinous and aromatic on the nose, the aroma entices the you to linger over waxy lemon peel, fragrant coriander seed sweetly scented herbs. To taste juniper is confident and finishes in a dry, cooling finish. A truly fantastic gin.
Monterey Gin is made using a one shot method on a copper pot alembic still by infusing 11 botanicals including Maté, Gentian Root and Sea Buckthorn, with organic grain spirit in very small batches (fewer than 100 bottles at a time).
The idea for Monterey Gin was born when Simon Finemore and his friends decided to create a Cornish Gin with a classic influence in 2016. They co-founded the distillery and have gone on to win top honours at international awards.
The Monterey distillery sits in the shade of the Monterey Pines on the banks of the Helford River, Cornwall. These majestic trees are native to California but have become particularly associated with Monterey County since they arrived centuries ago.
