Yuzu citrus gives the gin a clear citrus hit, boosted by grapefruit and juicy mandarin. Shiso leaf adds a herbal tang around the juniper, while sansho pepper brings its fragrant spice to the finish. Serve with soda garnished with lemon.
Three classic botanicals and five Japanese ones (cedar wood, shiso leaf, chrysanthemum, sansho pepper and yuzu) are individually distilled under vacuum, then blended. A touch of distilled Sake spirit is also added to bring a soft sweetness.
135° East is made by Master Distiller & Blender Kimio Yonezawa, who captures the essence of each Japanese botanical through a vacuum distillation process.
An expansion of the Akashi Sake Brewery, 135° East Gin comes from the Kaikyo Distillery in Akashi. The Gin is named after the longitude line that passes through Akashi, City (which has been used to determine Japan standard time since 1888).

"Fresh on the nose - to taste, there's yuzu and lemon, leading into juniper and hinoki followed by sancho pepper and a gingery warmth. The shiso, tea and bamboo all add complexity, so too does the rise base. A beautiful gin."
