Bladnoch Samsara (meaning 'rebirth') hails from the oldest independently owned distillery in Scotland. Matured in Californian red wine and Bourbon giving a wine-infused note with flavours of plum, vanilla and citrus.
Won a Silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2024.
Fragrant malt blends are used for the new make spirit, which is then matured in a combination of Bourbon casks and ex California red wine barrels, and bottled at 46.7% to capture the whisky's complexity.
Offers notes plum, vanilla and citrus, with very subtle undertones of fine California red wine - from the barrels in which part of the spirit is matured.
In 2015 the distillery was purchased by entrepreneur David Prior, and with Master Distiller, Ian MacMillan, at the helm and significant investment in the distillery facilities. Bladnoch may well be the oldest 'new' Whiskey distillery in Scotland.
