An approachable, young (for Armagnac) spirit that's fruity nose. The Folle Blanche grapes seem lively here, with a distinctly floral top note. Perfect for cocktails (try the Champagne Cocktail) or on the rocks.
Castarede VS Bas Armagnac is a blend of eau-de-vies that have been aged for at least 3 years. All of the Folle Blanche distillate used here comes from Castarede estate's own vineyard, located in Bas- Armagnac.
The Castarède family was ennobled in 1818, and two decades later established their distillery in 1832 (a few years before France was equipped with a railway). Today Florence Castarède is the sixth generation at the helm of the family operations.
Castarède is the oldest trading House of Armagnac in France and owns one of the most important collections of Armagnac vintages. A French institution it was awarded "Living Heritage Company" status (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant).
