Fruity and pleasant nose with light pepper, coconut and honeyed dried fruit. The oak is structured and to taste the Armagnac is balanced and filled with dried fruit, coconut-like dried fruits, oak and a long walnut like finish.
VSOP, is a blend of at eau-de-vie that have been independently aged for at least 8 years (4 more than the required amount for VSOP), then blended and bottled.
The Castarède family was ennobled in 1818, and two decades later established their distillery in 1832 (a few years before France was equipped with a railway). Today Florence Castarède is the sixth generation at the helm of the family operations.
Castarède is the oldest trading House of Armagnac in France and owns one of the most important collections of Armagnac vintages. A French institution it was awarded "Living Heritage Company" status (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant).
