Sweet and aromatic aroma reminiscence of Mediterranean citrus groves. To taste, there's strong hints of vanilla alongside notes of orange peel, cinnamon, and cocoa. It’s herbal with a very complex finish that great when used in coffee.
The full list of 43 botanicals used are a closely guarded secret but what is known is that ingredients are individually macerated in spirit, blended and left to marry for up to 9 months. They then chill filtered, sweetened and bottled.
Licor 43 is owned by Zamora, who invented it in 1946. The recipe is based on the legend of (marvellous liquid), a golden, aromatic elixir produced and infused from local fruits and herbs in Carthago Nova during the 3rd century.
Zamora may now an internationally renowned company, but all Liquor 43 continues to be made Cartagena, Spain.
