Expect aromas of tropical fruit (fresh banana and sticky pineapple). There's more to taste brings the alongsidw toasted warm spicy caramel flavours. Roasted almond and dried chewy apricot finish the journey.
Ron Colon's core comes from an aged column-still rum from the Licorera Cihuatan Distillery in El Salvador, which is blended with unaged Jamaican rums (both pot and column) from Worthy Park, Hampden and Monymusk.
Ron Colon’s story started in 2018 with two drinks industry friends, Thurman Wise and Pepijn Janssens traveled to El Salvador and were inspired to create a spirit that would reflect the country heritage.
The name Ron Colón comes from the 19th century when President Carlos Ezeta decided that the Salvadoran peso should be called “Colón” after Christopher Columbus. They even pay homage to the old “Colónes” banknotes and currency on the bottle labels!
