Honey and fresh orange peel leads a fruity nose. To taste, vibrant barley notes join the citrus and fruit, building with earthy spice as a finish of dried peels and menthol like cedar oak lingers.
ORGANIC: GAIA 1.1 is matured using 42% first-fill US oak, 17% virgin US oak, 18% Vin Doux Naturel and 23% premium French oak. No colouring, chill-filtration or any additives.
Waterford Distillery is the brainchild of Mark Reynier, whose previous career encompasses 20 years in the wine trade, before taking on the then-abandoned Bruichladdich distillery in 2000. In 2015 Reynier announced the launch of Waterford Distillery.
ORGANIC: GAIA 1.1 was the first organic Irish whisky as certified by the Organic Trust, having met rigorous production regimens and audits. It is part of the distillery's Arcadian Series, an array of organic, biodynamic and heritage distillates.
