The Castarède family was ennobled in 1818, and two decades later established their distillery in 1832. Today Florence Castarède is the sixth generation at the helm of the family operations.
Castarède is the oldest trading House of Armagnac in France and owns one of the most important collections of Armagnac vintages. A French institution it was awarded "Living Heritage Company" status (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant).
