Oatcakes, cereal and warming aromas of baking spices and subtle oak on the nose. Honeyed malt, with a touch of caramel to taste. The balance between cask types gives the whisky enough spice to provide depth while remaining accessible.
A combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso casks are married together to create the optimum flavour profile. The whisky is NAS, but is said to be around 5yr old.
King's Inch is owned by Courageous Spirits, the company behind Glas We Gin, who worked with the team at Glasgow Distillery (Jack Mayo and the late Jim Swan) to create an easy sipping and approachable whisky.
The whisky's name comes from old Imperial measurements, where a "King’s Inch" was said to equate to three barleycorns laid end to end. It's also a lost island in the Clyde near the distillery.
